A table is a piece of furniture having a flat top and one or more legs that is used as a work surface, a place to eat, or a place to put items. The dining room table is a low table used in living rooms to exhibit objects or serve refreshments; the coffee table is a low table used in living rooms to display items or serve refreshments; and the bedside table is a small table used to set an alarm clock and a light. There are also a variety of specialist tables, such as drafting tables and sewing tables, which are used to create architectural drawings.
The dining table, obviously, is the dining room’s main point. It establishes the space’s general mood: a lightly stained wooden table for four radiates an informal, casual vibe, whilst a formal oblong table for ten communicates refinement and formality. A bistro table is ideal for a tiny patio, and a glass table feels edgy without being overtly heavy.
